Capt. Sunil Barry – Founder, Barry Education Advisor

Capt. Sunil Barry is a Master Mariner with an extensive International career spanning the Merchant Navy, maritime education, and student advisory services. Educated in United Kingdom 1987 , Australia in 1988 and 1994, he has commanded Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs) and served in senior leadership positions within the global shipping industry.

Following his seafaring career, Capt. Barry contributed to maritime education as a visiting and online education faculty member at Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education and Training (MANET), Pune, helping shape the next generation of maritime professionals.

In 2017, he founded Barry Education Advisor, inspired by his personal experience of guiding his son through the process of securing admission to a university in the United States for higher education. Subsequently, his daughter pursued higher studies in France and Italy, giving him first-hand exposure to International education systems across multiple countries.

Over the years, Capt. Barry has successfully assisted numerous students and families in identifying suitable universities, academic programs, and study destinations based on their individual aspirations and career goals. His guidance is built on practical experience, personal involvement, and a commitment to helping students make informed educational decisions.

In 2026, Barry Education Advisor entered a new phase of growth through a strategic partnership with Edumilestones, enhancing its advisory capabilities with advanced career assessment tools, counselling methodologies, and a broader professional network.

Today, Capt. Barry combines decades of International exposure, educational experience, leadership, and personal insight to help students navigate the increasingly complex world of higher education and career planning with confidence.
